Xantyx is close to completion now.. it's been through several stages.. but due to my impatience, I went back about 5 stages.. I had converted the entire game to 3D .. but the rewriting of the entire code would have been horrendous!  The main game engine is complete.. along with about 10 levels.  The level editor is ..umm .. started.. hehe .. still, I shouldn't be hard to finish once I get into it.  After that comes the Main Menu, Sound, and Music.  I'm hoping one more month will be all....


After Xantyx's completion, I hope to start work on a side-scrolling action adventure.  The main character, BattleBoy, will be a cross between Megaman and Metroid with a medieval plot and weaponry to match it.  The main character will be capable of a huge inventory of moves, including (parrying "projectiles and enemy swords", blocking "with a shield that recharges itself over time", combos "which I hope will resemble Killer Instinct and Soulblade", charging moves "running and sliding thrust, trampling, an uppercut swing resembling Idol's special move", special attacks "with a special sword that requires the player to gather Ion Orbs.  Special moves will include more powerful standard attacks with lightning effects, special projectile and area of effect (anything near BattleBoy) attacks,  kicks, and shield punches "Where the damage is based upon the shield's charge and drains the shield energy during the attack".)  The special moves will be determined by the Gem in the Sword and Shield.  These Gems will either be gained off of enemy bosses "like in Megaman" or found at certain key locations "like in Metroid".  I plan on being able to have 2 different types of gems able to be used at a time .. one in the shield, and one in the sword.  The physics here will be just like Final Fantasy... a fire-based sword attack will practically destroy a water-based enemy/projectile.  A fire-based shield would be destroyed by water attacks, but would defend better than normal against other fire-based attacks.  I've just started contemplating the enemies, settings, and powers that will be used in this game and should have more to tell soon.
